Help Get Rid of Hidden Service Fees

Nearly all ticket sites deceptively tack on service fees at checkout, raising the price by upwards of 30%. A proposed New York State law can require that sites show all-in pricing.

Demand Change: New Yorkers Shouldn’t Be Ripped Off By Hidden Fees

NY fans deserve better.

We’ve all experienced it at some point. You pick out tickets, thinking you're getting a good deal, only to find out that those "$50 tickets" cost you $86, with $36 in hidden fees once you get to the checkout page.

It doesn't have to be this way! And luckily, New York lawmakers like Senator Skoufis and Assemblymember O’Donnell are working on legislation to make sure that all-in pricing on live event tickets is required by all sites that sell them.

But we need your support!

Ticket companies who charge service fees like in the example above do not want to have to show the actual total price upfront. Even though some ticketing sites have an option that lets you see prices that they claim include the estimated fees, those estimates are deceptive and don't always reflect the accurate final price.

Requiring all-in prices on tickets would level the playing field and create more transparency. This would be hugely beneficial for fans, as it would force ticket companies to offer more competitive prices across the board. For example, our site TickPick, which shows all-in pricing, offers tickets at prices 10% better than our largest competitor. But this is not obvious for many fans, as hidden fees make comparing prices incredibly challenging.

Ask yourself: What other industry has companies that are allowed to show you one price, only to tack on 40-50% more in other hidden fees at checkout?

Don’t get ripped off by those other ticket companies!

Proposed New York State Law

"The price of the ticket shall not change during the purchase process"

Every operator or operator’s agent of a place of entertainment, any licensee or other ticket reseller, or platform that facilitates the sale or resale of tickets shall, in all advertisements and ticket sales listings, display the total cost of the ticket, inclusive of all ancillary fees that must be paid in order to purchase a ticket and disclose in a clear and conspicuous manner to the purchaser the price inclusive of all fees. Such disclosures shall occur at the beginning of a transaction before a ticket is selected for purchase. The price of the ticket shall not change during the purchase process, excluding applicable taxes and reasonable fees for the delivery of non-electronic tickets based on the delivery method selected by the purchaser that shall be disclosed prior to accepting payment therefor.

Same Seats. Better Prices.

There are a lot of ticket sites out there, but TickPick is the only one that doesn't charge any service fees, hidden or otherwise. This helps you get the guaranteed best prices on the same tickets to your favorite live events that other sites have, but at prices 10% better.
